Fareena Sultan Gives Her Reaction to the Recent Cell Phone Advertising Blitz

In a February 20th article in The Boston Globe entitled, “Cell phone screen is today's hip billboard,” by Carolyn Johnson, the story explores the ever
growing trend in cell phone advertising. This is what Fareena Sultan,
Associate Professor of Marketing, calls “brand-in-the-hand.” Professor
Sultan states, “We're calling the phone 'the brand in your hand' -- you're never more than a foot away from it, 24 hours a day. The challenge will be to produce an advertisement for the phone "that excites the person holding it."
