M & A Presents Their Thoughts....

In a January 5th eWeek article, it discusses the recent Cisco acquisition of Ironport Systems. Brad Adams, managing director at Boston Corporate Finance believes that this acquisition is significant.
"Even if IronPort is a $100 million company, those types of valuations weren't the primary driver here; as with EMC's buyout of RSA Security, at end of day the value of the deal is weighted more toward what they get from the technology they are buying," Adams said. "What seems like an extraordinary valuation might make sense if you understand what they feel they have to gain."

M & A Firms gives their thoughts on Cisco Purchase

In a January 5th ITPro article, it discusses the recent Cisco acquisition of Ironport Systems. Brad Adams, managing director at Boston Corporate Finance believes that this acquisition is significant.
"Following IBM's acquisition of ISS and EMC's acquisition of RSA and Network Intelligence, in my opinion, Cisco had to do something to "defend its turf" or certainly re-establish its dominance in the network security space," he said.
"While EMC and IBM are approaching eSecurity from slightly different perspectives, they have quickly become major players along with Cisco in the enterprise security landscape. I think this transaction makes these leaders even more competitive - at least for other eSecurity acquisitions."
